Newsletter September 2017
We hope you and the children had a wonderful summer holiday and we welcome you to the
beginning of the Autumn term.
A warm welcome to our new starters Lilly, Marley, Molly and Sophia who joined us this week and Ingo
who joins us next Tuesday. We look forward to welcoming some more children who are joining us in
the coming weeks.
After the long summer break we thought it may be helpful to remind you of some of the requirements at
pre-school. Your child's bag should only include a change of clothes, nappies and wipes. Please do not include
nappy sacks as these can cause a risk to children. As part of our safeguarding procedures, a member of
staff checks all the bags at the beginning of the session and will remove any items which will pose a
risk, but your help in this matter would be appreciated.
If your child is on the reading system, please put the reading bag in the red tray by the register if you would
like your child to read on their allocated reading day. Reading will not take place if the book is left in their
Please ensure that your child's bag, lunch bag, clothes, shoes and wellies have name labels. As we approach the wet season, please leave a pair of wellies for your child under the bench by the bag pegs.
If your child attends lunch at pre-school, please ensure that cherry tomatoes and grapes are cut lengthways to avoid choking. We have a no nut policy whereby no nuts must come on the premises.
In line with our safeguarding policy, please make sure you do not use your mobile phone on the premises. Staff mobile phones are turned off and kept in the office.
An email was sent this week regarding the primary school gate. This has important information. We thank you for your assistance with these matters.
If at any time you have any queries, or would like to discuss matters concerning your child, please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff or your child's key person, in the session or by phone call or email.
It is with sadness that we say farewell to our Chairperson, Jim and Vice Chairperson, Donna who have resigned due to personal/family circumstances. We thank them for their hard work and commitment to the pre-school for 9 years on the Committee and 7 years as Chair and Vice Chair. There have been many achievements; including ensuring our move from
the village hall and into our own classroom, seeing us through the recent Good graded Ofsted inspection and
implementing the recommendations. We wish them both well for the future and a well deserved rest and time with their family.
